The DFB-Pokal semi-final between VfB Stuttgart and SC Freiburg was one of the most important matches of the season. As the Baden-Württemberg derby, the game already carried a special intensity, but with a place in the final in Berlin at stake, the atmosphere reached another level.
Together with friends, I travelled to Stuttgart to support SC Freiburg, carrying nothing more than a small pocket camera. From the stands, I documented the evening exactly as it unfolded from a supporter’s perspective. The anticipation before kick-off, the emotions in the crowd, the intensity of the derby, and the moments shared on the terraces. Rather than creating traditional sports photography, these images capture what it felt like to be part of one of the club's biggest away matches, offering a personal visual record of an unforgettable cup night. Unfortunately not with the result I hoped for.
